Green Goddess Smoothie For Gorgeous Skin

Great skin starts from within and these delicious smoothies help you on your way toward a clearer, more radiant complexion.

It is packed with antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables and also gives you a good dose of high-water-content foods as well.

Remember to use organically grown produce and locally harvested honey as much as possible.

TIP:  Use fruit that is very ripe and sweet for the best-tasting results.

Green Goddess Smoothie

Makes 4 8oz. servings


2 cups packaged fresh baby spinach leaves – note that spinach gives this smoothie a distinctive taste that you may have to get used to.  You can cut it back to 1 cup or 1/2 a cup to start, and simply add more banana, grapes and kiwi to sweeten the smoothie.

2 cups seedless green grapes

1 very ripe medium banana sliced

3/4 cup ripe kiwi chopped

1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice OR apple cider

1/2 cup cherry juice- pure, organic variety

1/2 to 3/4 cup sweet, ripe honeydew melon fresh or frozen

1 stalk of celery, pre-cooked, finely minced, with greens

1 carrot, pre-cooked, fined chopped

1 English cucumber, peeled and chopped

2 tablespoons honey

1/2 lemon juiced

1/2 of a medium cayenne pepper – optional but great for you

Additional cucumber slices for garnish



In a blender or food processor combine spinach, grapes, banana, kiwi, apple juice, cherry juice, melon, carrot, celery, cucumber, honey, lemon juice, ice and cayenne, if using. Cover and blend or process.

More Tips

Keep cooked, mashed or chopped celery and carrots in the refrigerator to add to your smoothies.

By and large, smoothies don’t keep overnight, so if you don’t need the 32 ounces or so this recipe makes, cut it down.

Play with this recipe to make it right for you. It’s got all the nutrients you could ever want in a smoothie, so keep an eye out for very sweet fruit in season to add flavor.

If you want to keep this smoothie visually appealing, don’t add blueberries, blackberries, plums or any other purple or bluish fruit. It makes the color turn an odd and unappetizing brown.

    Made one of these over the weekend. I added less spinach because it can overpower the rest just as you warn here. I increased the kiwi that I love and it was excellent. I’m going to drink one every morning from here on. That’s how good I feel after.


  2. For me, the spinach is too much. I’m not a spinach lover so that’s it. But without it this recipe is marvelous. So delicious!
